Docklands Artists Exhibition

If you have the time and live in or around Melbourne, we would love to have you visit our art exhibition at 'The Hub, 17 Waterview Walk, Docklands, VIC from 3 pm to 5pm 29 March (the launch date). The exhibition will also be open Monday to Friday from 9 am to 5pm and on Saturdays from 4 April to 18 April 10 am to 2 pm. Our group of 12 includes artists, photographers, a sculptor, a crafter who specialises in basketry and a jeweller. We came together thanks to an initiative by the City of Melbourne to sponsor and show-case work by people who live or work in the Docklands area.
I have included just two paintings for the exhibition - acrylics on canvas with some 'textures' included - (photos above). My friend Sally Davis, who is a fellow IT professional, is a trained artist who specialises in portraiture - check out her amazing conte drawing of her son James. More samples of her work can also be viewed at redbubble.com. We are both currently working on artist's statements for the exhibition, which I will try to upload here once they are complete - for the benefit of those of you who cannot make it to the exhibition.
Some of the artists have work for sale or commission - but I am not going down that path. Hope to see you there and will keep you informed with photos and updates....
