Early portraits - from 2001 to 2008

Here are some early attempts at portraits - again acrylics on canvas.  They are in the style of paintings by other artists, unfortunately I did not keep a record of who these inspirational artists were. I found these paintings (ie my interpretations) in Clive's stash and am posting them here for the record...

The inspiration for this one is obvious ... Paul Gauguin... This is an early attempt at painting in oils. The surface catches the light and reflects it, so unfortunately the quality of the photograph is very poor. I rarely paint in oils, the combination of turpentine and linseed precipitates a migraine...
